Pit Stop
People certainly go to a point of a long pit stop. It is a pit stop that makes one frustrated, disheartened, disabled and full of anxiety. It is that stage that goes deeper the more you fight it. It sucks you like quick sand… It takes all the air that you breathe. It drains all the power and energy you have in that ‘winner-takes-it-all’ combat. You become naked as a new born lamb. You become as helpless as a baby lying in the middle of a jungle.
You are immobile, but the world won’t halt for you…You are unable to survive when everyone’s running for their lives. And you are there, defenseless, lying underneath. Then you are consumed in deep thoughts of why’s and muddle… Then you become angry to the world--- and more fatally, to yourself.
But why do we pass by a point of crashed tires? Why do we feel like we’re made to fail and are always on the losing end? Is it what we call fate? Is it that bad luck that drives us? Or is it just that we think we’re too tough nuts to open our minds to something real?
Probably it would be the latter. We had flat tires because unknowingly, we already need an overhaul. We fail and we lose because we need to strive harder, when we think we’ve given all we’ve got. It will never be fate, because we were not born out of bitterness of life. It will never be bad luck, because life doesn’t offer bad bonuses and negative catalysts. Even the stars in Mario Brothers were made for something good, weren’t they?
Overhaul. It’s not easy to be repaired from head to foot. You have to spend a great deal of capital --- well in this case, there’s nothing much to lose but gain. And the first part of the capital can be acquired through an unbiased introspection. But along with this, honesty is a grave requirement.
Don’t look at what you’ve already done, but look at the things you haven’t done yet. Don’t count the hardships, but rather, measure what you haven’t endured yet. Don’t look back to the steps you’ve courageously taken, but look forward to the milestones ahead. Take each day as a brand new start as you examine what’s there beyond. Accept all the conceit you had for your hardships; all the pride and bitterness you had for the steps you’ve taken; as to accept all the negative baggage and attitudes you’ve bore. Through this, you can change your spirit into a constructive combat suit ready to step up and explore a new level.
The second part of the capital is finding opportunities and possibilities for your strengths and weaknesses. Enter the worlds you haven’t gone before. Take off the fear and worries then be courageous to take on a new challenge. Through this, you can learn new and more things that would certainly maximize your skills and potentials, then, LEVEL UP!!!
The third part of the deal is to keep yourself constantly inspired and motivated. You’ve got to have that big push, so that waking up early in the morning wouldn’t be that much of a pressure. Watching movies, reading books, looking around then you’ll see, there’s so much that you can do and be thankful for. Change the world -- at least the things within your grasp, as you focus on the gifts of each moment, rather than rant for a pesky trash. And that push will just come from within --- intrinsic motivation as they say.
The last but definitely the most important of all is having that ‘F’ word. Have faith in your dreams and have faith in that BIG GOD you’ve got. Our dreams are our purpose of living. If we won’t believe in them, there’s no where else to go. Your dreams will clear your way and give you proper directions, most especially when there are lots of things running in your head. You’ve got to know that it’s real and it’s so dang good to surpass everything that goes your way. Above all, believe in His power. That he could swipe you off your feet, but fly you off to that very special place and time He has set for you. BE gracious for His gifts, and then, pay forward. All He wants is you, singing your praises as He lifts you off from that ‘pit stop’.
